Jeanine Duncan

Sweet Nothings is the latest evolution of Jeanine Duncan’s ever-growing creative practice; an artist and tattooer whose work flows from skin to paper to objects you’ll want to keep close. Built on a decade of experience in the tattoo world under the name xj9.tattoos, Jeanine’s new chapter moves beyond the studio and into the home, offering prints, wearables, and hand-painted pieces that carry the same care, linework, and storytelling that has defined her visual language for years.

Each item is based on her original sketches, many of which were once tattoo designs and brought to life as linocut prints, hand-drawn paper goods, and custom-painted handbags. She often sources her materials secondhand, breathing new life into discarded frames or upcycled textiles to give each piece character and meaning. Her palette and style lean soft and romantic, but her work is never overly precious, it’s grounded, thoughtful, and full of soul.

All of this happens in the comfort of Jeanine’s home, where she draws surrounded by her partner and pets, often taking her sketchbook outside for a backyard session whenever the weather allows. Her art isn’t rushed or trend-chasing, it’s personal, intuitive, and rooted in the rituals of daily life.
