Spicy Pisces Studios was born from an impulsively purchased sewing machine, a New England blizzard, and a whole lot of YouTube tutorials. After discovering sewing through a series of handmade Christmas gifts, Kimberly quickly traded late night scrolling for making, teaching herself through trial and error and finding an unexpected talent for the craft. What began with a few handmade makeup bags soon grew into a passion project and Etsy shop, with her wife transforming their finished basement into a dedicated studio and becoming her most valuable unpaid employee along the way.
Every Spicy Pisces bag is made from start to finish in Kimberly’s at home sewing studio, using quilting cotton in bold, playful prints paired with a durable waffle knit interior for structure and everyday use. Fabric selection is a favorite part of the process, with patterns ranging from bright and whimsical to elevated neutrals to suit every aesthetic. To keep production moving, each stage is organized into dedicated steps, from cutting and pinning to pressing and sewing, allowing every piece to be finished by hand.
With a love of pink, feminine details, and prints that are meant to make people smile, Spicy Pisces Studios has a personality that is easy to recognize. Surrounded by sentimental art, neatly organized notions, upcycled wooden bins, and two rescue dogs sleeping at her feet, Kimberly’s studio is as personal as the pieces she creates, making each bag feel like a small extension of the world that inspired it.

Fun Fact
When not creating bags in her shop, Kimberly works full time as a veterinary nurse at a busy emergency hospital here in RI. Her new rescue dogs, Baker and Hiccup oversee every project (even if Hiccup may not have eyes)!
