Britta Hart

Britta Hart creates artwork that feels vibrant, layered, and unmistakably alive. Through drawings, paintings, and mixed media compositions, she builds worlds where portraits, insects, flowers, pop culture references, and everyday objects exist together in playful and unexpected ways. What began simply as making work under her own name has naturally evolved over time through commissions, gallery exhibitions, nonprofit collaborations, and personal projects, growing into a creative practice that feels deeply connected to both observation and self-expression.

Working primarily in two dimensional mixed media, ink, and digital illustration, Britta draws inspiration from nearly everything around her. Ordinary moments and overlooked details often become the starting point for new pieces, whether that means a pile of rubber bands, fragments of conversation, something spotted while traveling, or the quiet strangeness of daily life. Her process embraces experimentation and instinct, resulting in compositions that feel rich with texture, movement, and small discoveries.

Every piece carries what Britta describes as a sense of beautiful chaos, balancing intricate detail with looseness and spontaneity. Scribbled marks, layered imagery, and unexpected combinations keep the work feeling expressive rather than polished, allowing personality to remain visible in every composition. Even with access to traditional studio spaces, Britta still prefers creating on the floor surrounded by materials and ideas, building work in a way that feels intuitive, curious, and fully her own.
