House of Mulmul began with Archana Pande’s childhood summers in Rajasthan, where she first fell in love with the art of handblock printing. After moving to the United States, she held onto a dream of creating something deeply connected to her heritage, eventually taking the leap after the birth of her daughter. The name itself comes frommulmul, the traditional soft and lightweight Indian cotton at the heart of handblock printing, chosen to represent warmth, authentic craftsmanship, and a feeling of home.
House of Mulmul creates and curates artisanal, handblock printed home linens and accessories, including quilts, bed covers, table linens, bath linens, tote bags, makeup pouches, and multipurpose bags. Authentic handblock printing is the heart of every collection and a standard the brand never compromises on, with each piece carrying the marks of the traditional craft. The brand also works with a nonprofit organization in India to provide meaningful livelihood opportunities for women artisans, keeping community and craftsmanship connected.
The work comes to life in the blistering summer heat of Rajasthan, inside traditional open air studios filled with the rhythm of hand-carved wood meeting cotton and the steady hum of sewing machines. It’s honest, hands-on work rooted in generations of craft, bringing vibrant color and heritage techniques into the rhythms of everyday life while keeping the rich traditions behind each piece alive.
