A relaxed but refined collection of vintage and modern pieces grounded in coastal New England style, with an emphasis on quality and timeless design.
Founded by Emma Castleton, St. ELMO takes its name from the 1980s filmSt. Elmo’s Fireand the natural phenomenon it describes, a guiding light for sailors moving through a storm. That sense of endurance, direction, and return became the quiet foundation of the brand, shaping a collection that feels rooted in resilience, memory, and the comfort of finding your way home.
At its core, St. ELMO brings together vintage and modern clothing and home goods through a lens of classic coastal living. Each piece is chosen with care, with an emphasis on natural materials, thoughtful construction, and lasting quality. Rather than following trends, the process is guided by slow curation, gathering items that already carry history and can continue to live beautifully in new spaces and wardrobes.
Much of the work begins in the search itself, moving through coastal towns, secondhand spaces, and overlooked corners in search of pieces with permanence and quiet character. Based in Bristol, Rhode Island, the studio is where each item is cleaned, restored when needed, and brought together into a unified collection. The result is a brand that feels calm, intentional, and deeply considered, shaped by an appreciation for beauty that endures.

Why Bloom?
“I was drawn to Bloom’s commitment to supporting independent brands and creating space for thoughtful, small-scale businesses to grow. It feels aligned with the way I approach St. ELMO: intentionally, and with an emphasis on quality over volume. Being part of a community that values that kind of work, and presents it with care, felt like a natural fit.” - Emma
