Sara

At first glance, Sara Breslin’s work feels both grounded and otherworldly. She has spent more than a decade developing a distinctive visual language shaped by Art Nouveau, Surrealism, and her own lived experiences. After earning her BFA from the University of Rhode Island in 2014, she continued her studio practice in Rhode Island, refining a style that melds fantasy with emotional truth. Her paintings blend narrative symbolism, vivid color, and elements from nature to create figures that embody strength, vulnerability, and the expansive range of femininity.

Sara works primarily in watercolor, acryl gouache, and mixed media, creating one of a kind originals that she later transforms into prints, stickers, and other illustrated goods. Every piece begins with a deep sense of intention, drawing from personal experience, identity, mental health, and the complexity of human emotion. Her work is a practice of expression and affirmation, a way of honoring the power she sees in womxn each day and translating that into imagery that feels both personal and universal.

The signature of her practice is unmistakable. Sara’s world is filled with magickal women, radiant palettes, and symbolic imagery that balances light and shadow. Her figures feel alive, charged with a sense of story and spirit, yet grounded in the meticulous detail and technical clarity of her hand.

All of her work is created in her home studio, a bright and joyful space layered with art, sparkle, and pops of pink. At the center sits her Altar, an anchor for intention and grounding. It is both inspiration and guide, an essential part of the creative energy that shapes every new piece.
