Vibrant paintings inspired by observation, memory, and the beauty of place.
Kelly Fuller’s work is rooted in a lifelong practice of painting, shaped by both formal art education and personal exploration. The work draws inspiration from the surrounding environment, capturing the feeling of a place through color, pattern, and form. Landscapes, gardens, and coastal scenes inform the aesthetic, offering both visual energy and emotional resonance.
The paintings are defined by vibrant color, lively patterns, and expressive shapes. Gouache and acrylic are primary materials, sometimes accented with wax pastel. Surfaces range from paper and canvas to wood panels, with select works reproduced as signed archival ink prints or note cards. Careful attention is given to layering, composition, and capturing the dynamic energy of light, sky, and natural forms.
The work’s unmistakable quality comes from its love of color and pattern and its connection to the local surroundings. Each piece conveys the vibrancy of a moment, whether it be the shifting shapes of clouds, the intensity of a sunset, or the lushness of a summer garden.
Creation happens in a home studio with northern-facing windows that bring in soft, consistent light. Desks sit beneath the windows, and the space includes an easel, a wall of framed art, and large built-in shelving for supplies and inspiration. The studio is organized to allow both focus and freedom to experiment with color, texture, and composition.
