Handcrafted jewelry created with a focus on timeless quality and thoughtful design.
At first glance, Erica Zap jewelry is all about form, balance, and quiet sophistication. Each piece feels intentional, rooted in a deep understanding of materials and shaped by years spent immersed in global craft and culture. Her work blends modern silhouettes with subtle texture and color, creating designs meant to be worn every day and treasured for years.
The story begins in an international handcraft shop, where shelves were filled with art her parents collected from around the world. That early exposure to color, pattern, and handmade work laid the foundation for a lifelong creative path. After studying gold and silversmithing at SUNY New Paltz, Erica began developing her own line of contemporary jewelry, eventually building a studio practice here in Rhode Island with work now shared nationally.
Erica’s pieces come to life through a mix of metals, mesh, leather, pearls, and stones. Each design seeks a balance between structure and softness, pairing clean modern shapes with fluid lines or unexpected textures. The palette is shaped by years of absorbing global craftsmanship: earthy tones, metallic neutrals, and rich accents that bring depth without overwhelming the form.
The signature of the brand lies in that contrast between simplicity and surprise. Every piece feels refined but personal, familiar yet distinct. The work embraces both the precision of contemporary design and the warmth of handmade craft, creating jewelry that fits seamlessly into daily life while still standing out.
Erica designs and assembles her collections in a studio above her garage. It is a bright, quiet space that allows for uninterrupted focus and experimentation, and it has become an essential part of her creative process.
